If you’re a business owner, managing director, IT manager or pretty much anyone, you will have heard of Sage 200. As a best-in-class Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, it is used by countless businesses to streamline their processes, increase efficiencies and serve as the brain of the business.
Below, we’re going to take a look at the main features of Sage 200, and how it could offer game-changing results as to how you run your operations!
Financials
Sage 200 features a core financials module as standard that runs four key ledgers – sales, purchasing, nominal and cashbook. The key financial data held in these ledgers offers businesses a real-time view of their current financial position.
Interactive dashboards and detailed reporting (including Excel reporting) allow businesses a unified view of their current finances, and flexible nominal structures and open and closed accounting periods allow greater insight.
Multi-company, multi-currency, Sage 50 payroll are all available, and banking processes can be set up with automated bank feeds. You can read more about Sage 200 Financials in our article Sage 200 Financials Explained.
Commercials
Commercials allow businesses a streamlined way to manage every aspect of their supply chain. From inventory management, to purchase order processing and stock order processing, stock movement through the business, from goods in to goods out can be controlled efficiently.
All of the above is included in Sage 200 Standard, but for businesses with more complex stock management requirements, Sage 200 Professional offers additional modules that can deal with things like serial and batch number traceability.
Bill of Materials (BOM)
BOM allows manufacturers a way of gaining better control over their manufacturing processes, stock management and costs. Manufacturing can be complex, with multiple processes and often sub-assembly of component parts. The module simplifies these complex processes and gives manufacturers control over their operations.
Excel Reporting
As businesses grow, they can lose visibility of their current performance, which is why reporting becomes key. Sage 200 offers a host of perfectly formatted prebuilt Excel reports, which can be accessed at any time at the touch of a button.
Users can also create custom Excel reports to cater for greater analysis. This access to real-time and insightful reports allows businesses to react in real-time and make informative business decisions.
Sage 200 Professional now offers an additional third-party module called Excelerator. The module allows the seamless and accurate transfer of data from Excel directly into Sage 200, and eliminates data input duplication.
Payment Integration
Say goodbye to the headache of processing customer payments with payment integration. Pay now buttons can be added to sales invoices, allowing customers to pay their outstanding balance with one click!
Invoices are automatically reconciled with sales orders, drastically reducing the amount of time spent on manual reconciliation processes, freeing up resources in the business.
GoCardless
Sage have teamed up with GoCardless, one of the UKs leading direct debit providers to offer Sage 200 customers an easier way for their own customers to set up and authorise direct debit payments.
Whether set up on a schedule or on an ad-hoc basis, it’s particularly useful for businesses who receive payments for a subscription or recurring invoice. This ensures businesses receive customer payments on time every time, improving customer relationships and improving cashflow.
Supplier Payments
Thanks to Modulr, Sage 200’s new payments out solution, businesses can now pay their suppliers more accurately, securely and with greater ease. Not only does this ensure you adhere to your various credit agreements with suppliers, it also allows better forecasting when it comes to cashflow.
With an accurate and automated supplier payment solution, Sage 200 offers you a way to form stronger and lasting relationships with suppliers.
Microsoft Office 365
Microsoft Office 365 connects directly to Sage 200, empowering your employees to collaborate and share more freely in this cloud-based software. With access to data and files no longer restricted to one person’s machine, employees can work as effective and productive teams, whilst still being able to work remotely.
Sage 200 also integrates with Microsoft Flow, an intuitive piece of software which speeds up the purchase requisition process by providing real-time notifications to requesters and approvers. Microsoft Power BI also integrated with Sage 200, offering users a way of creating powerful and interactive reports.
GDPR Compliance
Customer data can be stored securely through Microsoft OneDrive, thanks to the Sage 200 Microsoft Office 365 integration. Old customer data in Sage 200 reports can be easily identified, removing the need to manually look back and delete. Sage 200 reports also feature the ability to quickly identify, update and delete data in accordance with GDPR policy.
CIS Reverse Charge
If you’re a construction company, you’ll be well aware of the changes in the way VAT is dealt with in the construction industry as of March 2021. The changes mean VAT registered contractors paying for construction services that fall within the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), pay VAT for those services directly to HMRC, rather than paying the contactor, subcontractor or supplier.
Sage 200 completely automates this process, massively reducing manual time spent on calculations. Being fully Making Tax Digital, you can also submit these payments electronically to HMRC.
