Chris Houghton, Dr. (H.C), CEO
Chris Houghton enjoyed a successful career working for international technology companies including IBM, before founding Eventura in Bolton over ten years ago. He has grown the company from a small business with a handful of employees, to a company that employs over twenty five people.
In 2014, Chris made the strategic decision to move the company from Bolton town centre, to the small town of Westhoughton, which resides in the Bolton borough. Eventura purchased the Cross Guns pub, which was later demolished and purpose built offices were constructed in its place.
Chris is a well-respected member of the community and in 2017, was awarded an honorary doctorate from The University of Bolton for his charity work. Considering that Chris is a true Boltonian, this achievement means the world to him.
In his spare time, Chris enjoys visiting family and friends in Malta but when in the UK, he can often be found watching his beloved Bolton Wanderers from the Eventura box.
Paul Birbeck, Operations Director
Paul had a successful career in technical management before coming to work at Eventura as the Technical Director over ten years ago. As the company has grown, Paul’s role has developed to take more of a strategic position as the Operations Director.
Along with overseeing the work of the Service Desk and Solutions teams, Paul is greatly involved in the cyber security and compliance practices of Eventura and its customers. He is a champion of GDPR preparation and educating people about the threats they face online.
Out of the office, Paul practices medieval sword fighting, martial arts and spending quality time with his family.
